KataBasi vision

Transcend entertainment, aspire to iconicity.

Katabasi Studio is an innovative startup specializing in the production of narrative video games with a strong cultural and psychological impact.
To date, we have developed 7 original titles focused on psychological and psychometric themes, with applications in both B2C and B2B markets—particularly in HR, corporate training, and the assessment of soft and hard skills.

Founded by Fortuna Imperatore (game designer, psychologist, Forbes Under 30, and Red Bull Indie Forge winner) and Francesca Balestri (architect, narrative designer, and art director), Katabasi blends deep storytelling, experimental design, and social impact, with the goal of redefining the role of video games as tools for reflection, growth, and transformation.

Katabasi Studio is the creator of the critically acclaimed FREUD’S BONES, the first video game in the world focused on Freudian psychoanalysis, nominated for two Italian Games Awards, DStars, and the Nordic Game Awards.

In a landscape where the Italian game industry is experiencing steady growth—reaching €2.2 billion in revenue and gaining increasing attention for national productions—Katabasi Studio stands out for its unique blend of ambition, hunger, and pragmatism.

Katabasi is driven by the desire to shake up the video game industry through a bold creative vision, supported by publishers and investors who believe in the value of authorial freedom—championing projects that are refined yet accessible, and designed to resonate and go viral.

Driven by a fervent aspiration to revolutionize the gaming landscape, Katabasi Studio seeks partnerships with publishers and investors who value and amplify the creative autonomy essential for a project of refined yet widespread appeal, poised for viral success.
